About BulbFinder
BulbFinder is an independent tool that helps you choose the right LED bulb to replace an old one — converting old watts to lumens, picking the right warmth, checking the fitting, and giving you a simple shopping spec to take to the store.
Why you can trust our advice
We are not a bulb retailer or manufacturer. We don't make or sell bulbs, so we have no reason to push one product over another. Our recommendations are based on common bulb specifications and standard lighting guidance, and we explain the reasoning in plain English so you can decide for yourself.
We may earn a small commission if you buy through some of the links on this site, at no extra cost to you. This never changes our recommendations — the advice is the same whether or not a link earns anything.
Our approach
Lighting is full of jargon — lumens, Kelvin, CRI, B22, GU10. We try to translate all of it into practical, everyday language, explain each term the first time it appears, and never imply false precision. Where a figure is approximate, we say so.
Who runs BulbFinder
BulbFinder is a small, independent project created and run from Australia. We focus on markets that use 230V mains and screw or bayonet fittings (E27, B22, E14, GU10, MR16), which covers the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and much of the wider world.
Important
BulbFinder gives practical consumer guidance based on common bulb specifications. It is a buying guide, not electrical advice. Always check the packaging, fitting, voltage, dimmer compatibility and fixture rating before buying or installing a bulb. For electrical work or uncertain fittings, ask a qualified electrician.
